Mobile car lockouts, key replacement and fob programming in Chula Vista, 7:30 AM to 10:30 PM, every day.
Every day, 7:30 AM to 10:30 PM
Chula Vista is big. It runs from the bayfront and Third Avenue Village all the way east to Eastlake and Otay Ranch. A car locksmith in Chula Vista has to cover all of it, and we do: wherever you are in the city, we drive to the car and do the work on site.
The west side is older streets and a busy village, with the marina and the new bayfront below it. The east side is newer neighborhoods, big shopping centers, and long drives between them. Students at Southwestern College lock keys in the car between classes. Families leave Sesame Place with a stroller, a tired kid, and no fob.
Chula Vista for us is the whole city, west to east. On the west side that means Third Avenue Village, the older blocks along Broadway, the H Street and E Street trolley stations, and the bayfront and marina at the end of Marina Parkway. H Street climbs to Rancho del Rey and Terra Nova, Southwestern College sits on Otay Lakes Road, and Eastlake, Otay Ranch and Millenia fill the east side around Olympic Parkway, with Sesame Place to the south. We work in the city lots behind Third, the marina lot, the lots at Otay Ranch Town Center, campus lots, park-and-rides, and two-car driveways.
The west side has older cars, and older cars have door locks that seize. A hard twist outside a restaurant on Third Avenue, and the key is in two pieces. The car is in a city lot off Landis or Church Avenue, and those lots are dim after the dinner crowd leaves. We extract the piece and cut a new key that starts the car.
Cars parked at the H Street station sit all day while their owners ride the Blue Line downtown, and an ignition on its last legs tends to fail on the way home rather than the way in. You get off the trolley at night and the key will not turn. We come to the park-and-ride, repair or replace the ignition, and match a key to it there.
A fob that has been dropped one time too many stops unlocking the car, and the metal key inside it has never been used. The student lots on Otay Lakes Road empty as evening classes let out, and a car sitting alone is easy to find. We program a new fob to the car at the space and make sure the emergency blade works too.
Start with the side of the city; the drive to Eastlake is not the drive to the marina. On the west side, give us the cross street on Third or Broadway, or the bayfront lot and the row. At the malls, name the store; at Southwestern College, the lot number and the building you are nearest; at Sesame Place, the row marker. On the east side the house number matters as much as the street. We park in whatever is open near the car, and for Eastlake and Otay Ranch we say up front how far out we are.
The places locals call from most, and what usually goes wrong there.
Across Chula Vista we do car lockouts, lost car key replacement, and key fob programming at the car. On the east side we cut a lot of spare keys for two-driver households, on the west side we see more broken key extraction on older cars, and anywhere in the city we program transponder keys when a hardware-store copy turned out to open the door and nothing more.
